Participates in the design and development of engaging and highly effective training programs using proven adult learning methodologies. Develops classroom, online and blended learning solutions; creates, updates and redesigns instructional content.

This position has the option to work fully remote; Ohio residents preferred. Medicare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Instructional Designer I



  • Develops routine or standardized instructor-led and online program materials including participant materials, leader guides, train-the-trainer materials, online training courses, and web conferences.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design and review training curriculum, including creating course objectives and content designs/storyboards.
  • Supports pilot/beta tests with facilitators to ensure effectiveness of development programs and compatibility with other systems.
  • Researches and evaluates new training technology, tools, and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Instructional Designer II



  • Develops foundational to moderately complex instructor-led and online program materials including participant materials, leader guides, train the trainer materials, online training courses, and web conferences.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design and review training curriculum which includes creating course objectives and content designs/storyboards.
  • Leads small to medium scale instructional design projects including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring objectives are achieved using proven project management methodology.
  • Conducts or supports pilot/beta tests with facilitators to ensure effectiveness of development programs and compatibility with other systems.
  • Evaluates the impact and effectiveness of training content and materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Instructional Designer III



  • Develops complex instructor-led and online program materials including participant materials, leader guides, train the trainer materials, online training courses, and web conferences.
  • Leads small to medium scale instructional design projects including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring objectives are achieved using proven project management methodology.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design and review training curriculum which includes creating course objectives and content designs/storyboards.
  • Conducts or supports pilot/beta tests with facilitators to ensure effectiveness of development programs and compatibility with other systems.
  • Evaluates the impact and effectiveness of training content and materials.
  • Researches and evaluates new training technology, tools, and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Senior Instructional Designer



  • Develops varied and/or complex instructor-led and online program materials including participant materials, leader guides, train the trainer materials, online training courses, and web conferences.
  • Leads large scale instructional design projects including setting priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring objectives are achieved using proven project management methodology.
  • Works with subject matter experts to design training curriculum which includes creating course objectives and content designs/storyboards.
  • Works closely with facilitators for content improvement and may also step in to facilitate as needed
  • Analyzes and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of training content and materials and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Researches and evaluates new training technology, tools, and best practices. Owns L&P processes and procedures.
  • Provides guidance and direction for more junior level staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Instructional Designer I

Education & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, adult education, or related field. Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with creating presentations and/or training materials.


Technical Skills and Knowledge:



  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Good presentation skills.


Instructional Designer II

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, adult education, instructional design, or related field. Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • 2 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or equivalent experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, preferably in health insurance or financial services.


Technical Skills and Knowledge:



  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and online learning authoring software skills (Adobe Cloud Suite with attention to Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premier Rush, and Illustrator preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced Articulate Rise and Storyline with ability to use branching and layers. Or equivalent with Captivate.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles.


Instructional Designer III

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, adult education, instructional design, or related field. Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • 3 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or equivalent experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, preferably in health insurance or financial services.
  • Experience with Train-the-Trainer and/or facilitation is a plus.


Professional Certification(s):



  • Instructional Design Certification preferred (or continued progress towards designation).


Technical Skills and Knowledge:



  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and online learning authoring software skills (Adobe Cloud Suite with attention to Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premier Rush, and Illustrator preferred).
  • Advanced Articulate Rise and Storyline with ability to use branching and layers. Or equivalent with Captivate.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply more progressive instructional design theories and adult learning principles.


Senior Instructional Designer

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, adult education, instructional design, or related field. Equivalent education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field preferred.
  • 5 years progressive experience as an Instructional Designer or equivalent experience designing and developing blended learning solutions, preferably in health insurance or financial services.
  • Experience with Train the Trainer and/or facilitation is a plus.


Professional Certification(s):



  • Instructional Design Certification strongly preferred (or substantial progress towards designation).


Technical Skills and Knowledge:



  • Advanced Microsoft Office and online authoring software skills (Adobe Cloud Suite with attention to Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Premier Rush, and Illustrator).
  • Expert Articulate Rise and Storyline with ability to use branching and layers.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply advanced instructional design theories and adult learning principles.
  • Strong project management skills using Project, Smart sheets, or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality is preferred.
