Job Description

The Mammography Technologist administers mammograms to patients and operates mammography equipment. This role performs quality control on equipment to ensure viability of examination and maintains accreditation records, including tests. This role performs pre-surgical needle localizations scans.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Assists in care and maintenance of Women's Imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Receives and reviews requests for Women's Imaging exams.
  • Accepts patients and assess' their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
  • Explains and prepares the patient for all Women's Imaging procedures.
  • Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
  • Performs all responsibilities / duties required by the Women's Imaging department to perform examinations.
  • Quality controls all images performed, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.
  • Displays superior interpersonal skills with patients and peers.
  • Performs work of equal skill, effort, and responsibility as directed and may perform work of a higher level in preparation for increased responsibility.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Technical Diploma/Certificate Radiology Required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire, Required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire, Required.
  • Registered Technologist (ARRT) Upon Hire, Required.
  • Registered Technologist - Mammography (RTM) ARRT within 18 Months, Required.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Must be able to multi task daily.
  • Knowledge of filing systems, telephone etiquette and customer service.
  • Computer skills, medical terminology
