Job Purpose Job Purpose: As a Systems Engineer II in the Applied Sciences department at Modular Mining Systems Inc, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing real-time optimization engines for mining operations. Your work will involve creating flexible and scalable solutions to address complex challenges in large-scale computing, contributing to the advancement of our cutting-edge technologies. Travel Requirements Travel Requirements: This position as a Systems Engineer II at Modular Mining Systems Inc is based in Tucson, offering a dynamic work environment at the forefront of mining technology. While travel is not a regular part of the role, occasional travel to other global offices or project sites may be required to collaborate with international teams and stakeholders. Job Duties and Responsibilities Job Duties and Responsibilities: Business Requirements: - Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to analyze, prioritize, and clarify business requirements, ensuring clear success criteria are defined. - Facilitate understanding of requirements, system structures, and deployment configurations among designers, developers, and stakeholders. System Requirements: - Translate business requirements into technical user stories for solution implementation, ensuring traceability and alignment with functional and non-functional requirements. - Manage changes in requirements and design during the development phase, identifying gaps and risks to plan appropriate solutions. Technical Design Documents: - Develop and maintain comprehensive component design documents, ensuring accurate reflection of system components on context and container diagrams. - Contribute to enhancing documentation structures and templates for improved clarity and consistency. Required Skills Required Skills: PhD in Systems or Industrial Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience, -or- M.Sc. in Systems or Industrial Engineering with equivalent experience. Proficiency in at least one major object-oriented language such as C#, Kotlin, Java, or C++. Demonstrated expertise in software engineering best practices, design patterns, and anti-patterns. Ability to architect and maintain complex system architectures effectively. Deep understanding of performance-critical, real-time, and distributed systems. Strong analytical skills with experience in domain modeling and requirement elicitation. Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Experience working with Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
