TITLE

Recruitment and Retention Ambassador

JOB SUMMARY

Strategically plans and executes recruitment for undergraduate and graduate programs currently offered by the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology at Texas Woman's University. This includes recruiting and assisting prospective students as a TWU representative, supporting the university's and school's enrollment goals, and fostering professional relationships with school districts, prospective students and businesses. Supports the university's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Assistant Director, School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology

Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:



  • Markets and promotes the SHPK programs to school districts and other organizations in connection with recruitment of students on and off campus.
  • Develops overall recruitment plan and participates in all graduate recruitment activities.
  • Builds relationships and manages outreach and communication activities of the school.
  • Facilitates outreach through face-to-face and virtual student recruiting activities, webinars, development of email, and social media campaigns, etc.
  • Executes strategies for effective outreach to prospective students. Outreach encompasses measured benchmarks of school district, business, and prospective student contact including monthly goals for calls, texts, emails and personal interactions.
  • Creates recruitment communications and materials.
  • Works with SHPK leadership to set goals and objectives for all programs, report weekly, monthly and yearly progress towards goals to SHPK leadership.
  • Assists with engagement activities and graduation ceremonies.
  • Frequent off campus travel (in state and out of state) several times per year is performed. Requires some overnight stays.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE

One year experience in a college/university setting preferred. Marketing experience is preferred to include use of social media and use of creative software. General knowledge of the graduate admission process preferred. Experience as a recruiter/coordinator preferred. Marketing experience preferred. Broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements preferred. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

Valid Texas driver's licenses and a safe driving record such as required by the university for Driver's Authorization.

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effectively relating to potential candidates and corporate entities that may provide leads to candidates is highly preferred.
  • General marketing and social media knowledge and skills.
  • Strong interest in and commitment to the recruitment of students from underserved groups and engagement with underprivileged communities.
  • Interpersonal skills for relating with school districts, corporations, campus partners, community organizations, and prospective students.
  • Must be collaborative, have a positive attitude, be resourceful, and persistent with careful attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented professional with consistent, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present in front of large groups.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
  • Frequent evening activities and some weekends to meet needs of prospective students and other stakeholders.



  1. Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.


PYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described in the Essential Duties and below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

The employee must have the ability to travel in and out of state and stay overnight. Ability to work evening activities and some weekends. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (boxes of recruiting materials).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees are responsible for completing assigned tasks safely and efficiently, and supervisors are responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment. Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.
