The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking NIH scientists, physicians, and physician-scientists at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor, tenured, in the tenure stream and outside the tenure stream. PACCM is seeking established investigators with a proven track record in extramural NIH funding and mentoring junior investigators. Attractive resources are available to establish a vibrant research program. PACCM supports active basic and clinical research programs in asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders, ILD, and ARDS/ALI, and fellowship training at major teaching hospitals, UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, the Oakland VA Medical Center, and UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

General rank requirements: An assistant professor should have demonstrated teaching ability, experience in advanced study and research, or professional experience of a kind that would enable them to make an academic contribution. An associate professor will have a strong experience with an impactful scholarship, a local, regional, and developing national reputation, effectiveness as a teacher, and service. Professor level should have attained superior stature in their field through scholarship, professional practice, and leadership in professional and learned organizations. The qualified candidate must be board certified in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine, eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania, and have a research interest in Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine. Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
