Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Instruction and Assessment Manager is responsible for ensuring funder educational and job outcomes are met. Partners with all project stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate assessment criteria in alignment with industry standards, funder requirements, and partner needs. Researches and develops curriculum with instructors and partners and assesses completion, student success, and job acquisition by students.

  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates innovative strategic assessment programs, projects, and activities specific to Clean Energy Curriculum and associated trades.
  • Hire, train, and supervise trainers and assessment specialists.
  • Educate instructors on the nationally accepted data analysis tools available for effective assessment and supports their collection of relevant data to improve student learning outcomes and educational effectiveness.
  • Partner with faculty involved in program-level specialized accreditations to develop and track appropriate data and evaluation criteria to ensure compliance of all required elements.
  • Provides expertise and consultation on assessment, including writing outcomes, developing measures, collecting and analyzing results, reporting finding, and developing and implementing action plans that align with best practices.
  • Monitor assessment trends on accreditation standards and credential standards and educates employees about the changes in a timely manner.
  • Leads, in collaboration with instructor, the development, organization, analysis, and reporting of student learning outcomes and related activities to support planning activities.
  • Provides updates to CEJA Director and Assistant Provost on compliance of the college with internal assessment requirements.
  • Leads workshops and professional development sessions to model and promote effective planning and assessment practices for staff, instructors and partners.
  • Coordinates wrap around student services with College staff and partners to support student success/completion.
  • Maintain the security of student records, both physical and electronic.
  • Other projects as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • BA/BS degree required.
      • Master's Degree in a relevant field preferred.
    • Experience
      • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in program research, development and/or management.
      • Demonstrated ability to develop and assess outcomes for higher education programs required.
      • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build consensus among faculty in diverse programs required.
      • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation required.
      • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service with students, faculty, office staff, and administrators in all areas of the college and also for college guests and the general public required.
      • This position requires critical thinking, problem-solving.
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills and proficiency with a variety of computer software tools such as Ellucian, Colleague, Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet required.
      • Five or more years of data management and analysis experience in a community college or university preferred.
      • Experience developing and evaluating innovative assessment strategies, learning program outcomes and HLC compliance preferred.
      • Experience as a college-level instructor preferred.

  • Hiring Range:
    Managerial 7 Salary/76,500.00 - 81,700.00
