The Environmental Engineer will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Leads environmental compliance efforts while serving as the technical expert and site responsible safety and environmental official.
Job Duties:


  • Identify and help interpret current and potential environmental regulatory and company requirements affecting the facility.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of facility environmental system metrics and identify improvement opportunities for implementation.
  • Collaborate with the appropriate departments and management to ensure environmental fundamentals and best practices are integrated, understood, and implemented in appropriate areas such as operating procedures, engineering practices, and asset integrity.
  • Review measured environmental parameters and communicate any non-compliance issues to facility leadership. Proactively identify potential non-compliance ecological problems and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepare timely submission of regulatory application(s) to ensure valid permits to operate.
  • Identify and facilitate the completion of required activities and measurements for environmental regulatory compliance parameter sampling and monitoring (internally and third-party).
  • Compile, prepare, and submit regulatory reports timely.


Qualifications:


  • B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.M.S. degree
  • 10+ years of environmental engineering, waste water engineering, chemical engineering and/or consulting experience.
  • Extensive Project Management Experience managing interdisciplinary projects
  • Ability to read and develop Process Flow and Piping and Instrumentation diagrams; ability to read and interpret Architectural, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical drawings
  • Work with minimal guidance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, Outlook & Visio
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to multi task
  • Formal Project Management training preferred
