JOB OVERVIEW:

A Wedding Sales Manager would be responsible for maintaining relationships and driving revenue through the planning and execution of wedding events at the hotel. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with strong sales skills and a passion for event planning.

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales & Marketing

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Solicit new business for hotel utilizing proactive selling with a focus on the Wedding Market.
  • Travel locally to promote the hotel and review competition.
  • Represent hotel during wedding tradeshows
  • Conduct all event planning and detailing for events.
  • Coordinate and conduct hotel tours with potential clients.
  • Prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate for maintaining client relationship.
  • Creation of menus and communication with Food & Beverage regarding selection.
  • Maximize hotel revenue using upselling techniques.
  • Maintain professionalism and accuracy in both internal and external communication.
  • Coordinate all event support (flowers, decorations, entertainment, etc.) to clients satisfaction.
  • Physically inspect all function arrangements and meet client day of event. Communicate with banquets if any changes are needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of the hotel's competitive set and adjust sell strategy accordingly.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the hotel.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum one-year experience in St Louis wedding market
  • Basic experience with faith-based life celebrations and kosher events
  • Basic knowledge of hotel operations
  • Knowledge of sales systems (CITY, Cvent, Starcite, Knowland, The Knot)
  • Knowledge of food cost and catering revenue profitability margins
  • Basic knowledge of convention service as backup



This is a non-exempt manager position. Salary is based on a 45-hour work week.
