Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting an Associate Director, the Senior Assistant Director is a critical member of the counseling team, providing guidance to undergraduate and graduate students in all aspects of financing a Loyola University education. This position plays a critical role in aid year set-up, testing, and reporting verification changes to the U.S. Department of Education. This position will also be responsible for monitoring and processing R2T4 to ensure on going compliance with all Title IV regulations. This role will be the team lead for our processing team, and will provide support to all Assistant Director's on federal, state, and institutional policy. This role will help lead office trainings to ensure compliance with regulation changes.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in related field and three - five years of related experience, or a combination of education and work experience . A solid knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential.
Qualifications
Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitors and completes necessary R2T4 reviews for all students, including students at Loyola's Stritch School of Medicine
- Is a primary contact for escalated process and policy issues
- Advises and/or counsels students and parents via phone, e-mail, and walk-in
- Conducts file review, professional judgement, verification, packaging and monitors/maintains application statuses.
- Works closely with other Senior Assistant Director to develop trainings for staff ensuring the office is following all federal, state, and institutional policies.
- Supports the University through presentations to various public audiences including FAFSA workshops, financial literacy programs, orientations, and other admission events.
- Directs programs and projects within the financial aid processes, participates in office planning activities, and also is available for walk-in and phone-in clients.
- Performs other duties as required
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Ability to work in and lead work groups.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations is essential.
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast pace environment
- Must be able to work as part of a diverse team and supports students and families from all backgrounds
- PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.

Computer Skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet and email applications. Proficiency with Department of Education databases; COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, SAIG. PeopleSoft experience highly preferred.
