UCF College of Community Innovation and Education is a one-of-a-kind academic unit with distinct, interdisciplinary expertise and potential for partnership with community stakeholders, conceived to address societal challenges and work alongside the community. The Opportunity:

The Center for Community Schools (CCS) is looking for a full-time, benefits eligible, 12-month postdoctoral research scholar. Postdoctoral Scholars are appointed for the purpose of receiving further training in the academic program specialty and gaining experience in other areas of activity appropriate to a career as a university faculty member. Contract renewal is possible on an annual basis for up to 3 years. Responsibilities:

Responsible to and under the direction of the Research Associate for Assessment and Evaluation in the Center for Community Schools. Responsible for identifying grant opportunities, assisting in grant applications, designing studies, applying for an IRB, literature reviews, assisting in and conducting research, data analysis, and presenting research findings via publication or conference presentations. The area of study will be Community Partnership Schools and University-Assisted Community Schools. Minimum Qualifications:


  • Applicants must have been awarded a Ph.D. in education, social work, public health, psychology, or related field by the time they begin the appointment, from an accredited institution.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment begin


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Has a high research interest in primary and secondary education programs, with a particular focus on mental health, medical services, and innovative approaches to meeting the needs of all students

  • Has strong research, methodological, statistical and writing skills

  • Has experience in social service or education program evaluation

  • Has previous experience in grant writing and working in a team setting

  • Has experience publishing in a peer reviewed journal

Include any experience you may have with grant writing, designing research studies, publishing, and conference presentations.

  • Contact information for three professional references, at least 2 references should be academic (their position, title, affiliation, email, phone number)

  • Two writing samples that best exemplifies your scholarly work (e.g., technical report, a published or unpublished manuscript-length document)
