JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Mathematics in Penn State's Eberly College of Science invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholars through the Center for Computational Mathematics and Applications (CCMA). Successful candidates will engage in research at the intersection of scientific computing and data science, with a focus on leveraging advanced programming skills.

Appointed candidates will collaborate closely with CCMA faculty on cutting-edge research projects involving advanced numerical methods, data science applications, and interdisciplinary approaches. The position includes the possibility of an annual 1-1 teaching load.

This is a term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire, with the potential for renewal based on performance and the availability of funding.

Education and Experience:

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field such as statistics, computer science, physics, or engineering. Strong expertise in scientific computing and data science is essential, along with proficiency in programming. Experience with Python or similar programming languages is highly desirable.
