Position Summary:

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an Asset Coordinator to manage the assignments of assets for customer installations in the United States and Canada. Air Products provides customers with on-site storage systems for both cryogenic and gaseous products (oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, helium). The storage systems can consist of such equipment as tanks, vaporizers, tubes, and manifolds. This equipment can be allocated from rehabbed or new inventory.

The Asset Coordinator will be part of the Customer Engineering Asset team and will manage the assignment of liquid bulk assets for installation projects in consideration of customer needs, advantageous use of our inventory, status of equipment availability, and seismic requirements. There are two liquid bulk Asset Coordinators within the Asset team. An Asset Coordinator should possess strong project management and organizational skills and be comfortable communicating by both phone and email to external and internal contacts.

The role collaborates with:

  • Customer Engineering Asset Team members
  • Customer Engineering Field Technicians
  • Customer Engineering Project Engineers
  • Liquid Bulk Sales Representatives
  • Rehab Shops and Equipment Vendors
  • Transportation Vendors and Corporate Transportation

Responsibilities include:

  • Process incoming equipment requests from project engineers

  • Strategically assign equipment based on needed attributes to improve the use of our assets

  • Collaborate with team members to identify tanks to rehab for inventory

  • Be responsible for stocked vaporizer inventory levels and identify need to order new inventory

  • Participate in weekly WIP meetings with rehab shops to monitor tanks through the rehab process ensuring project requirements for seismic ratings, Canadian installations, and medical certification is met

  • Ensure equipment completion meets all installation dates

  • Generate timely shipment requests for equipment using external transportation vendor or internal corporate transportation

  • Ensure equipment masters in SAP are kept up to date from time of allocation through installation

  • Opportunity to lead product equipment meetings with the commercial business area

  • Provide coverage for fellow asset coordinators during their vacations and periods of high workload

  • Help others do their bestby sharing knowledge of the asset request process and providing assistance with using system

  • Resolve any equipment issues during installation with apositive attitudeand asolutions orientedmind set in a timely and professional manner

  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to the current process to increase efficiency andsimplifywork processes

Qualifications:

  • Independent, motivated individual, able to multi-task, highly organized, open to new ideas with positive attitude

  • High School Diploma

  • Demonstrated ability with project related work

  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and ability to prioritize

  • Familiarity in gaseous and cryogenic systems

  • Focus on problem solving

  • Excellent communications in both written and oral form

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Sharesites, etc.)

  • Document management proficiency

  • Familiarity with SAP
