Department OverviewOur customers are public safety agencies, governments and military organizations who use our mission critical communications systems. The Remote Security Update Service team, part of the Motorola Solutions cybersecurity services organization, protects mission critical systems by ensuring security updates are verified, tested, and installed. Job Description

This role requires a dedicated professional to ensure the continuous security of mission-critical systems. You will be the driving force by leading a team applying security patch updates to systems, helping to safeguard them from cyber threats. By strictly enforcing established processes, you will guarantee the swift restoration of critical infrastructure following updates, minimizing downtime. You will be responsible for project scheduling, coordinating with your team, providing support, patching systems as needed, and conducting performance reviews. This is an opportunity to lead a team in protecting vital systems while upholding high standards of efficiency and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team performing patching related duties

  • Conduct patching for a variety of technologies as needed

  • Troubleshoot system and network issues that result from updates

  • Interface with customers, MSI Field teams, partners, and others on a regular basis regarding patching, scheduling, and other topics

  • Look for opportunities and implement efficiency improvements

  • Provide input and feedback for automation and new development projects

  • Plan and coordinate patching activities between multiple parties

  • Perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure proper system operation

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced hands on technical experience with various technologies preferred.

  • Customer service experience

  • Strong leadership experience

  • Industry recognized IT certificationspreferred.

Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems

  • High level knowledge of networking concepts (i.e. network devices, IP addresses, ports, and protocols)

  • High level knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies

  • Experience performing troubleshooting, break fix, or technical support on Windows and/or Linux operating systems

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

Salary range for Illinois - $95k-$115k.

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Technology

  • Team lead experience within a technical environment required.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
