AUSL provides a scholarship to pay for your Master's Degree to become a Teacher. All of our accepted candidates spend a year training with expert teachers in schools for a full year while we support them in their academic work at DePaul University.
AUSL Teacher Residency offers a rigorous, one-year teacher training program designed for talented, committed professionals who passionately believe that all students deserve a quality education. Our Master's Degree Programs are designed to prepare you to teach in high-needs schools in Lake County communities.
AUSL Teacher Residency is a recognized leader in teacher training. The residency is an intensive and supportive program that develops highly effective teachers through master's level coursework partnered with an in-classroom experience with guidance from expert coaches and mentors. By combining theory and practice, participants receive the tools needed to become successful educators in Public Schools and beyond. Upon completion of the Master's Degree Program and the experiential teacher training, residents will be fully licensed to teach in Illinois and placed in a full-time teaching position in Public Schools in Lake County.
Tuition, Scholarships & Financial Aid for Teacher | Master's Degree As a resident, you will enroll at DePaul University. Tuition is approximately $20,400 for one year. All residents receive a $21,600 training scholarship (paid monthly directly to you) which can be applied to tuition or used towards living costs. Eligibility for Teacher | Master's Degree All applicants must meet general admission requirements of DePaul University, as well as, additional requirements specific to this program including but not limited to:
Physical Requirements for Teacher | Master's Degree Light Work: Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands include the ability to stoop occasionally, reach frequently, handle and finger objects occasionally, talk and hear constantly, frequent use of near visual acuity, and occasional use of far visual acuity.
