Position description

The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health invites applicants for an Assistant Project Scientist position with an emphasis in advanced environmental epidemiology and exposure assessment. The position includes 12 months of grant-supported salary, with an anticipated start date of March 1, 2025.

Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or other doctoral training in an appropriate field to conduct advanced research on the health effects of air toxics and other contaminants. Two years of postdoctoral work is desirable. Applicants will have to conduct advanced data integration and statistical modeling. Applicants will be expected to lead research papers for submission to high-impact scholarly journals. Successful applicants will also be proficient in working with large, diverse, interdisciplinary research teams. Applicants will also be responsible for managing several complex research projects independently with minimal supervision. Therefore, strong interpersonal skills and experience are assets for this position.

* Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, ScD, or equivalent) in a relevant discipline by time of appointment.

* Expertise to conduct advanced data integration and statistical modeling.

* Applicants will be expected to lead research papers for submission to high-impact scholarly journals

* Ability to work in large, diverse, interdisciplinary research teams.

* Ability to multitask several complex research projects independently with minimal supervision.
