Position Summary: Manager, Business Office

Responsible for supervision of the central billing team which manages the revenue cycle process for assigned hospitals to include charge entry, billing, and collections. This position ensures that central billing team is providing ongoing collaboration with assigned hospitals and the payers which includes the tracking, aging, reporting and collection of all accounts received.

This position prepares and maintains reports of aged receivables and collections progress and performs routine audits of the department's financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Essential Job Duties

  • Manages the revenue cycle process for assigned hospitals to include charge entry, billing, and collections. Provide recommendations on strategies for improving internal processes that maximize productivity and quality of work.
  • Supervise the central billing office team and ensures that all assigned activities are successfully completed to meet departmental and company goals. Oversee schedules and overtime while providing ongoing coaching and development to each team member.
  • Collaborates and provides scripting to the assigned hospital business office managers/team regarding cash collection and ensures appropriate conversations are occurring to meet goals.
  • Manages the insurance contracts to ensure the department is maintaining appropriate communications and relationships with insurance account representatives.
  • Prepares and maintains reports of aged receivables and collections progress to be shared regularly with department team.
  • Performs routine audits of the department's financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Accountable for achievement of metrics and targes associated with the department goals.
  • Assists with special projects assigned by the director.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure:

  • Assciates degree required, Bachelor's preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience required, 5-8 preferred.
  • Understanding of Full Cycle Cash Posting.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Employee Oversight & Supervision.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Detail Orientated.
