JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Morgan Academic Center is seeking a Student Athlete Learning Specialist with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and technology skills. This position will work in support of the Morgan Academic Center's mission: to provide comprehensive learning services that support all student-athletes in reaching their potential while achieving academic and athletic excellence. The Student Athlete Learning Specialist provides resources to student athletes; monitor student growth and aid in building intervention and learning strategies inareas of time management, planning academic work, writing development, and address motivational barriers; facilitate trainings to comply with the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification requirements for ongoing professional development of our tutorial staff; interacts with students and parents to address academic, educational or personal needs; assist in creating a supportive environment and offering high quality services on behalf of a diverse student population in collaboration with others in the work unit and University community. Additional duties include:
Education and experience: This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional level. Minimally requires a bachelor's degree plus 1+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
