Basic Function

The La Porte Complex Maintenance and Reliability group is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will interact with the plant's operations, capital, outage, Global Engineering & Turnaround (GE&T), reliability and maintenance personnel. The Maintenance Manager directs, coordinates, and executes safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound mechanical and Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical and Analyzer maintenance support for the Olefins and Polymer Areas. This position reports to the Site Maintenance and Reliability Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Provide leadership to enable the organization to achieve GoalZERO HSE performance.

* Manage and direct LYB supervisors, coordinators, resident, and specialty contractors.

* Leads Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical and Analyzer maintenance management.

* Drives the use and implementation of company & industry best practices.

* The incumbent is responsible for the activities that may be performed under his/her direction or indirect supervision.

* Manages Annual Maintenance budget & budgeting working closely with Operations & Accounting to ensure costs are managed to target.

* Works closely with other Maintenance & Operation Managers onsite

* Ensuring compliance with corporate goals, policies, and procedures

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as good judgement and discretion are required.

Min. Qualifications

* A minimum of 10 years of chemical plant or refinery experience

* The incumbent must have a sound working knowledge of company policies, mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures and health, safety, and environmental requirements with a major focus on improving equipment reliability and root cause analysis.

* The incumbent must have a good working knowledge of MOWP.

* The incumbent must have a general knowledge of purchasing and employee relations.

Preferred Qualifications

* BS degree in Engineering or equivalent Maintenance Leadership experience of 10 years or greater.

* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills to focus the organization on achieving Corporate, Site & Department goals.

* Strong analytical skills for making timely decisions with limited information.

* Strong organization skill for managing competing priorities and setting long term goals and objectives.

* Strong system skills for design and execution delegation of maintenance systems such as Operational Excellence, Mechanical Integrity, preventative/predictive maintenance programs, and process tracking

* Strong communication (written and verbal presentation) skills for formal reports and recommendations to all organization levels

* Broad technical knowledge of the Engineering disciplines and experience involving a wide variety of chemical process, equipment, hardware, and plant operations.

* Sound working knowledge of company policies, plant operation and maintenance procedures, planning/scheduling, and equipment reliability, SAP and health, safety and insurance provision requirements as related to company activities.

* Strong leadership skills are required for the direction of technical and professional personnel and the coordination of outside services.

* Leadership and management skills to effectively manage budgets, coordinate site wide priorities and drive improvements.

* Ability to develop a strategy and collaborate with the other Maintenance Managers to generate improvements.

* Prior turnaround / project experience strongly preferred.

* Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. SAP, Primavera, and BI tool preferred.

* Travel: Less than 5% within North America could be required.
