Your responsibilities

Summary:

The PT Desk Side Support Specialist is responsible for all aspects of desk side support including desktop systems, printers, communications hardware/software, and office systems. This position responds to end user support requests through Bilstein's ticketing system such as deploying, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring all active desktop and laptop systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, upgrades, supports and troubleshoots Microsoft Windows and Office as well as any other authorized desktop applications.
  • Installs, supports and troubleshoots printers, computer hardware and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
  • Resolves technical problems and answers queries by telephone or self-service ticket in support computer hardware, software, network, system/application access, and telecommunications systems.
  • Performs desktop administration (including backup, security management, user account management, patching, network access, office systems and applications support).
  • Supports desktop hardware, software, and applications.
  • Deploys and maintains company approved default image when necessary.
  • Identify and repair hardware and software including assessment of replacement as warranted.
  • Supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
  • Executes small to medium sized projects according to schedule.
  • Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School degree.
  • Experience with Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Mobile Devices, Cloud based SaaS offerings, and support ticketing systems.
  • Experience researching and resolving technical problems of moderate complexity, typically escalated from first-line support teams.
  • Experienced responding to escalated telephone, email and online requests for technical support
  • Familiarity with standard patching procedures.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Remote Access technology.
  • Proven experience supporting networked printers and photocopiers.
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be highly organized with proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in flexible hours based on business demands

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds.
