Summary of Job Duties:The Simulation Lab Technician works under the supervision of the Academic Dean for Nursing and Allied Health. This position will also work daily with the direction of the Nursing Program Directors and the Sim Lab Supervisor. The Nursing Simulation Lab Technician plays a crucial role in supporting nursing education through the management and operation of simulation equipment and scenarios. This position ensures the smooth functioning of simulation labs, providing technical support to faculty and students in executing educational exercises that simulate real-world clinical situations. The general duties of the Sim Lab Tech will include:

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Set up, operate, and maintain simulation equipment such as patient simulators, IV trainers, medication administration systems, and audio-visual recording devices.
*Ensure all simulation equipment is in working order and ready for use, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
*Collaborate with nursing faculty to implement simulation scenarios that align with learning objectives and curricular requirements.
*Assist in the setup and execution of simulation exercises, including coordinating props, supplies, and environmental cues.
*Provide technical assistance and training to faculty and students on the use of simulation equipment and software.
*Troubleshoot issues during simulation sessions to ensure seamless operation and realistic simulation experiences.
*Maintain accurate records of simulation sessions, including participant feedback, equipment usage, and scenario details.
*Assist in the collection and analysis of data for evaluation and improvement of simulation activities.
*Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with simulation standards and guidelines.
*Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of simulation methodologies and technologies.
*Monitor inventory levels of simulation supplies and equipment components.
*Assist in procurement activities, including researching and recommending new simulation technologies and resources.
*May involve occasional evening or weekend hours to support simulation activities.
*Lifting and moving simulation equipment and supplies, sometimes up to 50 pounds.

The successful candidate must have a commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of UACCM, and have the ability to deliver quality customer services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
*Proficient is the use of computers and computer programs such as, but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.
*Knowledge of record keeping procedures.
*Knowledge of basic grammar.
*Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
*Strong technical skills with proficiency in operating simulation equipment and software.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
*Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively. Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current unencumbered Arkansas RN license
  • Knowledge of simulation pedagogy and educational principles in healthcare.
  • One year of work experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed.

Other job-related education and /or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon recommendation and approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Simulation, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare simulation lab or clinical setting preferred.

Salary Information:

$45,000, commensurate with education and experience
