Senior Corporate Accountant

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-orientedSenior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in day-to-day accounting, experience collaborating with external auditors, and a proactive approach to process improvement. A CPA certification is highly desirable, and public accounting experience is a significant advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting Functions:
  • Perform daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, consolidated financial reporting, and reports for management.
  • Review work completed by Staff Accountant for accuracy.
  • Completing financial analysis for variances, discrepancies, and identifying business drivers to make informed decisions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, facilitating audit processes and providing required documentation.
  • Support internal audit activities and ensure adherence to internal controls.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and analysis, tax preparation, and operations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Active CPA certification with 4-6 years of experience working in public accounting with the Big4 or regional accounting firm(s) and/or a publicly traded organization(s).
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree is a minimum educational requirement for this position andcannotbe waived.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Great Plains).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
