Job Description

The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Administrative Consultant to join our Business Development team. This position will play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, building partnerships, and driving the success of the MURR/NextGen MURR enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this position will be instrumental in developing and executing business strategies, securing funding opportunities, and advancing workforce development initiatives.
This is a high-impact role requiring a proactive, relationship-focused professional with a passion for connecting client needs with institutional capabilities, navigating complex funding landscapes, and cultivating strategic industry partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Partnership Development:
    • Identify and connect client needs with the unique capabilities of MURR and the University of Missouri.
    • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
    • Propose, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships to advance mutual goals.
  • Funding Coordination:
    • Lead efforts to secure federal, state, and alternative funding opportunities for MURR/NextGen MURR.
    • Collaborate with grant teams to coordinate pre-award processes and ensure alignment with funding requirements.
  • Strategic Business Development:
    • Use market insights to position the university's unique selling points and identify new growth opportunities.
    • Drive revenue-generating initiatives from initial negotiation to contract finalization, ensuring alignment with university policies.
    • Analyze and negotiate contract financial terms to align with strategic objectives.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Ensure all business development activities comply with regulatory standards and university governance policies.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance teams, legal counsel, and governing boards, to finalize agreements.
  • Industry Engagement and Representation:
    • Represent MURR in industry organizations and at key events, serving as an advocate for our mission and capabilities.
    • Develop and maintain an extensive network of industry contacts, leveraging relationships to expand the enterprise's reach.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Nights and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years of experience in grant writing, workforce development, design, marketing, grant funding

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $85K - $150K per year
Grade: GGS 013
