About the Role:

As a member of the Product and Engineering team at PitchBook, you will be part of a team of big thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers who strive to deepen the positive impact we have on our customers and our company every day. As a Manager, Product Design for Credit and Funds, you will be responsible for leading a team of Product Designers to create best-in-class products for investment professionals to make better investment strategies and decisions. Credit and Funds teams are focused on empowering investors to discover, synthesize, and use credit and private equity fund, company, deal, and investor data, along with analyst research and insights, to inform their investment strategies and deal-making. You will not only lead the creation of the product user experience but alsodrive product direction, partnering with Product Management and Engineering leadership to identify and prioritize the biggest opportunities to create value for customers and the business. You are an inspiring and collaborative design leader who will help raise the bar for user experience on your team.

With your expertise in all aspects of user-centered design and creative leadership, you will inspire and guide designers to develop a deep understanding of our customers and the financial markets in which they operate and craft solutions to help them reach their financial and business goals. You'll demonstrate strong systems thinking and business acumen to lead your team to create holistic and intuitive experiences that are guided by clear, data-informed design rationale. You will cultivate a strong sense of product ownership and commitment to success in your team members. Using your expert user experience and systems thinking skills, you will coach and grow yourteam to leverage traditional and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate features that meet users' needs and deliver customer value.

As part of the Product Design leadership team, you will partner with other design, product, and engineering leaders to ensure a cohesive and exceptional user experience across the entire product portfolio. You will be expected to build strong cross-functional relationships with data operations, research and editorial, marketing,solutions, and customer success teams. You will foster a strong design culture and contribute to initiatives to improve design operations, team growth, and craft development. You will lead and participate in efforts to evolve our design system, improve research and design practices, mature design planning and delivery processes, and support designer professional and craft development.

Primary Job Responsibilities:



  • Lead, grow, and inspire a diverse team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with product management and engineering to identify high-impact customer and business opportunities and develop strategies, goals, and delivery priorities for the for credit and funds domain to achieve strong business outcomes
  • Lead your team to deliver holistic and intuitive product experiences that simplify complex workflows and enable users to leverage rich data and insights in a comprehensible and actionable manner
  • Coach and develop UX systems thinking, generative ideation, and creating effective experiences with agility
  • Identify connections between product areas and strategies and proactively collaborate to ensure holistic solutions that collectively create exceptional customer value
  • Lead and support your team in presenting strategies and design solutions to cross-functional stakeholders across the company, including the executive team
  • Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies, trends, financial technology markets, and user behaviors and leveraging them in leading your team to deliver breakthrough solutions
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of your team and identify strategies for improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement in your team and your own work; seek new methods and practices that lead to greater impact and value
  • Contribute to evolving design practices, standards, tools, and operations of our design organization
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested



Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Design, Human Centered Design, Psychology or equivalent
  • 8+ years of professional experience in creating digital product experiences, with an emphasis on enterprise-level, B2B solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in a design leadership and people management capacity
  • Expert-level knowledge of user-centered design practices and demonstrated experience applying them to deliver end-to-end projects and achieve business and market outcomes
  • Experience managing teams, organizing priorities, and leading product delivery with discipline with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • A portfolio of past work as a contributor and leader that demonstrates expertise in user research, information architecture, interaction design, and the ability to solve enterprise-level design challenges
  • Strong demonstration of strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to lead designers in creating products that deliver user value and business results
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate product design strategies and decisions and how they deliver business and customer value
  • Strong analytical skills, using qualitative and quantitative data to guide design decisions
  • Intellectual curiosity, structured thinking and a collaboration-driven interaction style with the ability to build relationships, foster trust and develop shared understanding
  • Proficiency with Figma, collaboration and analysis tools (Miro, Lucid, Mixpanel, Fullstory) with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation



  • Annual base salary: $190,000-$220,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 20%



*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
