  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the implementation of the overall Quality System.
  • Perform in-process inspection of product using drawings, specifications, and other pertinent information, and document/communicate the results of those inspections.
  • Make decisions on the suitability of product and raw materials based on requirements.
  • Review specific production records and packing configurations to ensure accuracy.
  • Create and/or file accurate, legible quality records.
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities by:
    • identifying and quantifying potential waste in processes,
    • participating in formal Continuous Improvement teams,
    • leading a Continuous Improvement project
  • Participate in Internal Auditing activities.
  • Assist in training personnel in inspection methods and quality requirements.
  • Perform inspection and measurement of sample parts for new product validation.
  • Help to maintain the calibration system for measurement devices.
  • Once proficient, assist in training other personnel in inspection methods and quality requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
  • Hours - 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with ability to work overtime as needed.
WHAT WE VALUE This position supports the Quality Assurance Manager's responsibility for major assets in the form of measurement equipment. A considerable impact can be made in regards to:
  • Customer satisfaction, by ensuring effective and timely responses are given tocustomerinquiries and complaints.
  • Product quality, by ensuring that quality plans and instructions are accurate andclear and measurement devices are functioning effectively.
  • Profitability, by ensuring #1 and #2 above are accomplished.
This position is responsible for ensuring that product inspection and test plans are accurate and clear. This position is responsible for ensuring calibration records are generated and retained appropriately, and the quality records such as completed control charts, job jacket, etc. are retained appropriately.   • A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
  • 1-2 yrs. of experience in the thermoforming industry is a plus.
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) quality technician certification is desired.
  • Minimum of 1-2 yrs. experience as a quality technician is preferred.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $39,900 to $49,900; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $39,900 to $59,900 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
