Reporting to the Division Controller, the Sr. Accountant will support some of the Plant Management teams of the 7 locations. Total revenue for the 7 plants is approximately $400MM.

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for accounting and financial analysis activities in the region. He/she will be responsible for -



  • Understand variances to budget and prior year and identifying opportunities for cost reductions and improvements
  • Complete standard setting process
  • Implement improved mid-month reporting processes
  • Analysis of month end results: P&L and Balance Sheet including variance analysis
  • Complete month-end results package for the Plant to present to Senior Management
  • Provide monthly financial forecasts and analysis
  • Support monthly close including journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliation & fluctuations and accurate Revenue and Expense oversight
  • Part of coordinating the annual budget process for assigned plants; collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data, with understanding of all risks and opportunities.
  • Provide key decision support to manufacturing plant and support safety and operating initiatives
  • Conduct regular reviews of production order variances and bills of material to identify unusual variances and report root cause
  • Monitor and work with plant management on Continuous Improvement initiatives and validate savings
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with company's procedures and policies
  • Own project accounting and tracking for service projects
  • Project analysis & profitability tracking
  • Service billing to customers, including time, T&E, and material costs
  • Ensure control over inventory by supporting the cycle count program and coordinating the annual physical inventory process.



Desired Skills & Experience



  • BA degree in finance or accounting and 4+ years of increasing manufacturing accounting responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, variance analysis, and standard setting is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • ERP systems experience required; for example: SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • The ideal candidate will have high energy and a positive "can do" attitude, is detailed oriented, and has a willingness to "roll up their sleeves" to get the job done.



Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package. The hourly base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,000 to $98,500.
