Position Overview
The Jewish Studies Program invites qualified scholars and professionals to apply for a part-time lecturer position in Jewish Studies. We are especially interested in instructors who can teach one or two courses per semester on topics related to Judaism and Jewish culture and history. Lecturers are non-tenure-track members of the faculty and are typically paid on a per-course basis. Positions vary and are dependent upon need, if any. Primary role is instruction with no obligations to perform research or service. Application materials will be reviewed by the faculty and placed in a pool for consideration for developing and/or teaching undergraduate courses consistent with departmental instructional needs. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Job Description Teach a specified number of undergraduate courses per semester. Courses may be taught in-person, hybrid or online. Jewish Studies Lecturer Duties: 75% - Teaching
15% - Office hours and other appointments with students
10% - Other
Required Qualifications Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in the letter of application, (2) a record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in C.V., and (3) information provided from professional references.
