Parkkeeper I (North Grounds District)

Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of City parks, grounds, buildings, athletic fields, and related facilities. This role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of recreational areas, supporting a positive experience for the public.

Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate tractors with mower attachments, including one-ton trucks with trailer, riding mower, edger, line trimmer, backpack blower, and push lawnmower.

• Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including cutting and chalking foul lines, inspecting and replacing lights, painting benches, and setting up bases.

• Collect litter and debris from parks, grounds, buildings, and athletic fields; ensure proper disposal.

• Adhere to City safety policies and procedures during all activities.

• Assist in other maintenance tasks as assigned.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• No experience required.

• Valid Class C Texas driver's license.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Majority of work performed outdoors with exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.

• May be exposed to extremes in temperature, humidity, insects, odors, and fumes.

• Tasks require physical exertion, including bending, lifting, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
