Position Summary The Department of Psychology is seeking a Research Staff Assistant who will be under the supervision of PI, Dr. Jon Freeman. The incumbent will be supporting research aiming to understand the mechanisms underlying split- second social perception. Social Cognitive and Neural Sciences Lab investigates the cognitive and neurobiological mechanisms that allow people to make sense of their social worlds. This position is contingent upon continued funding. Responsibilities Organize the scheduling and running of subjects. Assists with collecting and maintaining research data, including behavioral and fMRI data collection and analysis using basic statistical software. Assists in the preparation of reports, proposals, correspondence, data entry, and library research. Performs administrative duties related to research (e.g., grant preparation, ordering supplies) and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 0-3 months of experience in a research environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; strong research background. Other Requirements Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain high confidentiality and professionalism with a client focus. Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail, research, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Self-starter, a fast learner who can work independently under limited supervision.
