Landfill Laborer

Tehama County Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Safety-Conscious Laborer to join our team in Red Bluff, CA!

Starting Pay: $20 - $21 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Monday and Thursday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

The schedule will be 5 days per week with occasional overtime.

• Greet and direct customers in a courteous and professional manner.

• Provide clear communication and quality customer service during all interactions.

• Sort recyclables and electronics from incoming loads.

• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts, and roll-off trucks.

• Manage on-site traffic flow to ensure safety and efficiency.

• Perform heavy lifting and physical labor throughout the shift.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Follow assigned work schedules and adjust to operational needs as they arise.

• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and responsibility in completing assigned tasks.

• Identify and address challenges on the job as they occur.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Frequent exposure to challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, loud noise, strong odors, dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, and potentially hazardous substances such as toxic chemicals and biohazardous materials.

• Involves extensive physical activity and may require strenuous labor, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing over 50 pounds.

• Occasional exposure to hazardous or physically risky situations; requires strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience operating heavy equipment and/or large vehicles.

• Proven ability to safely operate heavy machinery.

• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods.

• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to follow a structured work schedule and respond to operational needs.

• Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulatory and company standards.
