Job Title: Community outreach Specialist/ Communication Specialist Duration: 12+ Months Pay Rate: $27.00/hr. on w2 without benefits Location: 2 Cherry Dale Court, Cranston RI, 02920 Must: 1 Year of human service experience. 1 Year of disability rights experience. Associate's degree. Roles and Responsibilities: Promote information in the community about disability rights under state and federal law and the work of the Commission. Provide online and in-person training to government, non-profit, and public entities about disability rights. Inform the GCD coworkers of feedback from the community. Assist in Social Media postings and newsletter. Review building plans submitted to the Commission for ADA compliance review. Required Skills: Strong communication skills. The ability to work well with the office staff and the public. Familiarity with MS Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to travel within the state. The ability to process and analyze visual information. A strong commitment to civil rights. Spanish-speaking applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
