Electrician Position Type: Contract (1 year +) Position Location: Henrico, VA Position Pay: $35/HR - $40/HR (Depending on Experience) Responsibilities:
- The key purpose of the Electrician role is to assist and install Retail and Commercial solar energy systems in accordance with company quality standards and applicable legislative and industry standards, whilst providing superior customer experience
- Ensure installations are conducted in a safe manner adhering to company policy and procedures at all times.
- Identify all hazards and report all incidents to the relevant WHS representative.
- Comply with all WHS inspections, audits, investigations and requests for documentation.
- Conduct Job Site Assessments (JSA) / toolbox meetings for each and every day of the installation and return all appropriate documentation to Head Office with the Job Pack.
- Always wear supplied personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all required PPE (including harnesses, hard hats etc.) is available at site and is used at all times; and
- Undertake safety checks of vehicles, ladders, hand / power tools, safety equipment adhering to Flex WHS policies and procedures.
- Installations: Be the part of the face to the customer and assist to ensure solar arrays are installed on time, to budget, to industry specific guidelines, Australian regulations and as per company quality standards.
- Ensure high quality installations, leave the premises neat and tidy and communicate politely utilizing an unrivalled understanding with the aim of ensuring superior customer experiences
- Inventory Management: Maintain and be accountable for the security of inventory in possession; Return unused inventory to local warehouse on all occasions; Maintain all equipment utilized in the installation process (van and tools of trade)
- Technical Expertise: Ensure a strong understanding of all product's technical details, specifications, benefits, performance and costs and be able to communicate them internally and externally
- Understand all company products and ensure the products are installed as per supplier specifications, industry specific guidelines, Australian regulations and Flex quality standards
- Maintain a current knowledge base of industry specific guidelines, rules
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED a minimum; Higher education is a plus
- Cert 2 in electro technology (Pre App) or A-Grade Electrical License is preferred but not required
- Well-developed communication skills
- Comfortable working at heights & ladder work
- Experience in commercial environments an advantage
- Neat & Tidy (uniform will be provided)
- Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety
- Current Driver's License; Preferred to have own vehicle
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities when encountering any installation issues and report back to stakeholders as appropriate.
