We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN - Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team. Leadership & Management
Oversee all nursing services and ensure high-quality resident care through effective planning, assessment, documentation, and service delivery. Direct, orient, and support key clinical staff, including the ADON/Day Supervisor, Head Nurse, Evening Supervisor, Night Supervisor, Medical Records Assistant, and Clinical Instructor. Hire, terminate, and discipline Nursing Services Department staff as necessary; conduct exit interviews for eligible employees. Develop and maintain staffing plans, orientation programs, and ongoing training initiatives in collaboration with the ADON, In-Service Coordinator, and Administrative Services.
Clinical Operations
Coordinate medical and pharmaceutical services with the Medical Director, Pharmacy Consultant, and Major Vendor Pharmacy. Ensure appropriate placement and care planning for all residents in cooperation with the interdisciplinary team and attending physicians. Oversee interdisciplinary health care services delivered by facility staff, consultants, and external providers.
Training & Compliance
Develop and implement in-service and continuing education programs for nursing and facility staff. Serve as Program Coordinator for the Nursing Assistant 100-Hour Training Program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Review and process personnel-related documentation including evaluations, status changes, time sheets, and leave requests. Assist supervisory staff with disciplinary actions and maintain awareness of all performance concerns.
Quality Management
Actively participate in and promote facility-wide Quality Management programs aimed at continuous improvement in resident care and nursing operations. Ensure adherence to Elderwood's policies, compliance standards, and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications
Current Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred. Minimum of two years of supervisory nursing experience required. Geriatric nursing experience strongly preferred. Proven ability to communicate clearly, solve problems creatively, and manage challenging situations diplomatically. Demonstrated leadership qualities including initiative, accountability, trust-building, and the ability to foster a supportive team environment.
