We're seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support attorneys and litigation teams with a wide range of legal responsibilities. This role involves substantive legal research, case analysis, and hands-on involvement throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate exercises strong judgment, works independently, and has a solid understanding of laws, regulations, and legal procedures. Responsibilities Analyze legislative developments, administrative actions, and judicial decisions to assess legal impact. Conduct research for legal opinions and provide substantive analysis for information requests under various statutory provisions. Review and evaluate case files for litigation readiness, including determining applicable laws. Identify and gather additional information, evidence, and witnesses through surveys, interviews, site visits, and record reviews. Assess relevance and value of evidence to support case strategy. Compile and summarize comparative data to identify patterns or potential legal violations. Review national and regional economic trends to support litigation strategy and potential remedies. Examine and interpret various record-keeping systems, including digital databases, to gather relevant data. Interview and prepare witnesses for court appearances. Develop and analyze statistical data (e.g., standard deviations, regressions, weighting); prepare charts, graphs, and tables for litigation use. Draft recommendations and provide ongoing support to attorneys throughout case development and trial. Maintain custody of exhibits, documents, and case files. Potentially appear in court to testify about exhibits or evidence prepared. Shift: Monday - Friday in office (no overtime)
