Department:Utility Services Department Organizational Unit:County Water and Wastewater Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $22.84 to $25.12 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work processing permits for construction and applications for water, wastewater, and/or reclaim service; assessing, collecting, depositing, and recording fees for service and permits; assisting with compliance enforcement activities, including property ownership verification, lien processing, and preparation of Notice of Violation (NOV) documentation and cases for Special Magistrate hearings. REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical or technical experience in utilities, building, zoning, construction, land use permitting, or a closely related field. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
