- Technical Writer edits existing Code of Safe Practices manual and creates additional content as required that enables Client to maintain compliance with all safety requirements for our Client and contract coworkers, our customers and the public.
- Collaborate with, and gather information from, internal and external clients to develop editing and develop content for documents, in an orderly, concise manner, which are typographically, grammatically, and technically correct.
- Take complex technical information and make it clear and easy-to-understand for frontline audience. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Teams and PowerPoint. Flowcharts and organization charts development (iGrafx Preferred, Visio is acceptable) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired.
- High standards for writing, detail, editing, and information design that lead to accurate, concise, usable, and highly polished content. User-focused approach to documentation planning, design, and content strategy.
Top Requirements:
- Years experience and the number and quality of work products produced as a technical writer and editor.
- Possesses an understanding of frontline workers to ensure the content appropriately targets their informational needs.
- Attention to detail and pride in work product. What steps do they take (i.e., what is their practice) to ensure accuracy, format and quality of content?
Top Skill Set:
- Strong understanding of how to present complex safety information in a concise, accessible format.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills interacting with subject matter experts and leaders.
Qualifications:
- Education Minimum: BA/BS in English, Technical Writing, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Technical Writing, content management, process improvement.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with Client policies and procedures about safety, and Company Guidance Document Management (GDM) standards.
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office applications and SharePoint.
- Proficient in documentation technologies and processes.
- Good verbal communication skills to collaborate with peers, content owners and collect necessary information for documents.
- Good multi-tasking, adaptability and organizational skills.
