Position Announcement

Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director - Compliance, the Athletics Compliance Coordinator assists with the oversight of Utah Tech University compliance with NCAA policies and procedures for recruiting, admissions, financial aid, and all other aspects of NCAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Ensure institutional compliance with NCAA Division I, conference, and university rules and regulations related to recruiting, initial and continuing eligibility, admissions, financial aid, housing, transfer requirements, and the health and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance compliance strategies, processes, and monitoring systems to support high-volume, multi-sport athletics programs and associated support services.
  • Serve as the primary administrator responsible for the oversight and monitoring of NCAA Division I Bylaws 11, 13, and 17 (Conduct and Employment of Athletics Personnel, Recruiting, and Playing and Practice Seasons).
  • Oversee the implementation, management, and department-wide utilization of Teamworks and other compliance technology platforms to ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive rules education programming for coaches, student-athletes, staff, boosters, and campus partners.
  • Support the preparation, documentation, and submission of waiver requests, interpretations, and case materials to the NCAA and conference offices.
  • Prepare, maintain, and regularly update compliance manuals, policies, procedures, and operational guides to reflect current legislation, case precedent, and institutional practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Graduate degree preferred.
  • At least 6 months to two years minimum of NCAA Compliance work experience, at the Division 1 level required.
  • Experience with implementing experience with Compliance Assistant and Teamworks (both NCAA compliance tools/programs) preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact well with a wide range of people, from student athletes to academic administrators.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics policies and procedures, both within Utah Tech University and with NCAA, as well as the ability to stay abreast of any NCAA regulation changes that require changes to campus policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and to switch-task between competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak athletic seasons and compliance-related deadlines.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $50,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of February 2026.
