Position Summary:
Manages the operations of a multidisciplinary program, overseeing administrative procedures, medical staff appointments, general fund, and compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies, and procedures. Works with the Executive Director in planning, implementing, and directing within the multidisciplinary program.

Key responsibilities
  • Manages daily operational issues and problems for the multidisciplinary program on matters of administrative procedures, budgets, and personnel either through direct action, advice, or as liaison with other managers as appropriate.
  • Manages, motivates, and develops staff. Conducts performance reviews and recommends hires, promotions, pay increases, and disciplinary action.
  • Manages the faculty and fellows' appointment and/or credentialing process. Works with the appropriate department and hospital staff to ensure accurate and timely appointments. Ensures compliance with all applicable policies.
  • Develops and writes new program proposals as necessary. Develops capital budget in consultation with Director for submission to appropriate parties. Maintains statistics and reports as necessary. Monitors variations and works with multidisciplinary Program Directors to analyze them.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions for the Program Director, including acting as liaison with internal and external departments, organizations, and agencies.
  • Develops a program-specific budget with Program Director. Works with departmental staff to ensure compliance with departmental policies and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Oversees and manages several high-level programs within the Department.
  • Managers and assists the Executive Director in developing new space proposals and serving as a liaison with Facilities.

Minimum qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's in business administration, health care administration, or a closely related field preferred.

Experience:
  • 8 years' experience required
  • Requires the analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing, marketing, or human resources systems and programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department. Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, will be fully in person for the first 6 months and then potentially eligible for hybrid (1x a week).

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
