POSITION OVERVIEW: Under supervision, the Floor Care Custodial Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of specialized floor care tasks to maintain clean, safe, and presentable campus facilities. Primary duties include re-spotting and deep cleaning carpets using both truck-mounted and manual extraction equipment to remove visible dirt, deep soil, allergens, pollutants, and chemical residue. Additional floor care responsibilities include shampooing carpets and furniture, cleaning under cushions, vacuuming and edging carpeted areas by moving furniture and removing debris, stripping and waxing floors using proper solutions, floor scrubbers, buffers, and mops, power washing floors, and removing stains from concrete surfaces. Incumbent also responds to emergency requests such as safety hazard clean-ups, excess water extraction, lock-up assistance, and urgent carpet or furniture cleaning needs. May also perform general custodial tasks in a variety of campus areas, including college residences, dining halls, meeting rooms, study rooms, laundry facilities, offices, lounges, hallways, stairwells, childcare facility, property signage areas, trash and recycling chutes and rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, suites, landings, interior and exterior common areas, and HDH grounds and walkways. Incumbent may assist Building Maintenance Workers as needed and will safely operate university vehicles, including trucks with lifts and box trucks. The role includes safeguarding area keys, maintaining custodial equipment and supplies, and responding to routine and emergency work requests from supervisors, maintenance, the Customer Service Center, and the police department. Providing high-quality customer service to student residents and guests is essential, and positive, respectful interactions with all staff, residents, and visitors are expected. The primary work location is in dining halls and student residences. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $43,952 - $56,856 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $21.05 - $27.23 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
