About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and strategic problem solver to join our team as a Senior Billing Client Specialist. In this role, you will own the design, governance, and continuous improvement of client billing frameworks that support accuracy, scalability, and exceptional client experience. You will exercise decision-making authority in developing and implementing billing processes, automation initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration models that enhance operational performance.

What You'll Do

  • Own and design end-to-end billing processes and frameworks, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and alignment with client and business requirements.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker and subject matter expert for client billing, leading the resolution of complex inquiries and escalations with a client-first focus.
  • Lead formal initiatives and projects to implement process improvements, automation, and cross-functional solutions that optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Partner with Billing Operations, Collections, Sales, and IT to enhance billing systems, governance models, and reporting standards.
  • Support custom client requirements, including framework creation for e-billing integrations, invoice configuration, and specialized reporting solutions.
  • Design and monitor KPIs (accuracy, timeliness, dispute resolution, client satisfaction) and take ownership for achieving or exceeding performance targets.
  • Lead investigations into billing discrepancies and client complaints, ensuring systemic corrective actions are designed, documented, and executed.
  • Maintain and continuously refine billing policies, SOPs, and knowledge resources to promote institutional consistency and accountability.
  • Drive automation and analytics initiatives that support strategic decision-making and long-term operational scalability.
  • Mentor and guide team members, building capabilities in analytical problem-solving, communication, and process ownership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years in billing, client services, or financial operations, with demonstrated ownership of process improvement or framework development.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects or initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP, and billing systems.
  • Strong process design and framework development expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
  • Experience in automation, analytics, or system enhancement projects.
  • Analytical and critical thinking with the ability to convert insights into strategic actions.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of driving alignment across teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership, autonomy, and accountability in complex operational environments.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and results-oriented, with a client-centric mindset.

Location: Hopkins, MN

The hiring base salary range for this position is $60,400 to $83,100 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
