Compensation:$140,000-$180,000 depending on experience.

Summary:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and integration of rugged electrical solutions for advanced laser and electro-optical systems. Your work will span architecture design, power distribution, EMI/EMC mitigation, grounding/bonding, and troubleshooting, all while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver tightly packaged, high-performance systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop MIL-STD power and data cabling solutions using COTS and custom components
  • Architect and lead integration of electrical systems, power budgets, grounding, and EMI/EMC mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and electro-optical engineers to integrate power and thermal mitigation solutions into compact designs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and system-level issues safely and effectively.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster team growth
  • Deliver designs within program schedules and requirements, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Prepare design reports, test results, and quality assessments for cables and devices.
Required Experience / Capability:

  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt to evolving requirements
  • Expertise in:
    • Electrical system architecture
    • Cable harness design for sensors, power and data
    • Hardware troubleshooting at component and system levels
  • Familiarity with aerospace/military connectors (MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-5015) and IPC/MIL-STD cable design/build practices
  • Working knowledge of EMI mitigation principles (MIL-STD-461) and grounding/bonding/shielding design (MIL-HDBK-1857)
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to PCB design and testing
  • Altium Designer | Harness Designer
  • NFPA 70 electrical standards
  • Familiarity with programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python)
  • Understanding of compliance testing for safety, EMC, and environmental standards (UL, CE, IEC, RoHS)
  • Experience with fiber optic cable design for data transmission (e.g., MTP connectors, OM3/OM4 fiber).
