Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a Service Technician/Steam Cleaner to work in our Wash Bay. The Service Technician works in the wash operation cleaning and detailing machines and will be responsible for some or all functions and duties listed below. These duties may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required.

Pay Rate: $35.30 per hour. This is a union position.



Responsibilities

    Workhours: Monday - Friday from 2:00PM - 10:30PM.
  • Cleans and details machines either sold to customers or customer machines coming in for repair.
  • Cleans components and parts utilizing a steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.
  • Operates machinery safely inside and around the yard area.
  • Helps maintain the pressure washers.
  • Uses a variety of chemicals to degrease and detail machinery.
  • Looks up work orders in corporate ERP system.
  • Coordinate the work through the wash bay from different work areas in a timely manner so as not to disrupt the production or workflow.
  • Must work with a positive attitude and a spirit of cooperation.
  • Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.
  • Always maintains a professional and proper personal appearance adhering to company policy.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb on wet machines.
  • Basic knowledge of safely operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to work in wet, muddy, greasy and smelly environments.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
