Position Summary

The Commercial Sales Support Specialist is an integral part of the Sales and Service team for DESTACO. This role is responsible for working with our Sales Teams, Product Managers, and Product Applications Teams to coordinate the flow of information given to customers and channels and communicate this information to the Sales Managers for follow up. This role is intended as a developmental opportunity to grow into a Technical Support, Product Management or outside Sales Representative role.

The Commercial Sales Support Specialist reports to the Distribution Sales Manager for the region. The position is located in our Auburn Hills facility and supports inside sales for the Americas. The position directly supports overall sales initiatives, pricing and discount processes and works closely with Technical Support and Product Management to provide solutions to customers regarding product applications.

Key Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and Customers to issue quotes designed to quickly respond to the customer and win targeted opportunities
  • Follow up on quoting activity, as needed, to understand lost opportunities
  • Closely collaborate with Regional Sales Manager and Automotive Team within designated territory. Utilize and develop CRM as directed by leadership team.
  • Support our sales efforts (including quote preparation, pricing and availability, managing annual stock returns, new product introductions, and co-op opportunities) by communicating with channel partners on a regular basis.
  • Work with Sales Analyst to achieve sales goals while monitoring sales volume growth/loss.
  • Work with Product Managers and Operations in developing a process for discontinuing product lines.
  • Research competitive opportunities and pass along to the Sales Managers for follow-up.
  • Represent DESTACO at professional functions such as meetings, conferences, customer/channel visits, or trade shows.
  • Schedule and lead on-site or virtual meetings around scorecard discussions, reviewing top accounts and target accounts, product or ecommerce training, and website content review.
  • Ensure our sales partners website content is current and up to date with relevant products.
  • Prepare annual pricing files for product managers to utilize when setting annual pricing.
  • Prepare upload files for Sales Analyst to utilize in updating ERP.
  • Update Price Lists and configurators with annual price updates to be shared with internal team and customers.
  • Assist Sales Analyst in calculating customer earned discounts annually (coordinate inventory audits, verify POS participation and/or website presence, prepare annual communications, etc.)
  • Provide technical support to customers and channel partners.
  • Solicit and drive new prospect accounts.
  • Perform other job duties and/or projects to meet business needs.

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Minimal travel may be required

Education and Certification Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required, bachelor's degree preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% or less
