Our Supply Management Market Insight Lead Consultants transform research, data, and industry intelligence into clear, actionable views of the supply landscape, and where the Red Cross has the greatest opportunities to strengthen value, resilience and mission impact. As part of the Strategic Procurement Center of Expertise (COE) function, our team translates market dynamics and macro trends into implications for key supply categories and enterprise priorities. We provide forward-looking recommendations that guide where and how category strategies need to adjust as our operations, suppliers, and global market conditions change.

As a Market Insights Lead, you will contribute towards meaningful cost savings/avoidance and improve total value creation for the Red Cross with initiatives focused on supplier sustainability, innovation, partnership, and risk mitigation. These are critical components of our mission-ready supply chain.

This catalytic role plays an essential part in evaluating, shaping and driving adoption of emerging tools, technologies, and analytical methods including AI-enabled insights, automation, visualization, and market intelligence platforms. You will accelerate and advance our tool sets by identifying gaps, recommending solutions, and enabling more, efficient, and forward-looking analytics.

This role provides strong visibility across Supply Management and offers opportunities to deepen strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities. Team members gain expertise that position them to take on broader strategic, category, and enterprise-facing roles as their careers progress.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will have developed communication skills, both oral and written, with strong business and technical acumen. In this 100% virtual remote procurement opportunity, you will help scope, design, and execute a variety of supply market insight projects and be a part of a collaborative and accomplished community.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Job Outcomes and Deliverables)

  • Analyze complex data sets, industry benchmarks, and market trends to identify patterns, support feasibility assessments, and recommend innovative sourcing and category strategies.
  • Develop robust market, industry, and supplier segmentation and leverage spend analytics to refine category strategies, resource planning, and performance measurements.
  • Build analytical frameworks, forecasting tools and cost models that inform mission-impact recommendations, negotiation strategies, scenario planning, and business feasibility assessments.
  • Translate insights into clear, compelling business cases and operational reports to help shape strategic decisions, and influence investment choices across Strategic Procurement and the broader organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and continually advance the team's analytical tools, dashboards, and knowledge repositories. This work will serve to accelerate the evaluation and integration of new technologies, ensuring the department's market intelligence is timely, accurate, efficient, and strategically impactful across all managed spend categories.
  • Contribute specialized research and analysis to cross-functional initiatives and supplier performance activities. As a Market Insights Lead, provide evidence-based insights that inform sourcing strategy, supplier risk management, technology enablement, category transformation, and continuous value creation.
  • Conduct scenario, sensitivity, variance, and impact analyses on key categories and suppliers to quantify risk exposure, highlight deviations from targets, and provide actionable input to Third Party Risk Management and Procurement COE initiatives.
  • Represent Procurement in internal and external knowledge groups, bringing back insights that inform category strategies, organizational best practices, and innovation opportunities.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned in support of evolving organizational priorities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications and Requirements)

  • BS in Finance, Economics, Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration with an analytical curriculum.
  • 10+ years of progressive related experience within a corporate or non-profit environment. An MBA or Master's degree may be acceptable as an alternative to a portion of the experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to synthesize findings from multiple sources to tell a holistic, influential "what, why, so what" story.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen, with a solid understanding of business structures, processes, and information flow in a multi-business unit organization.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver clear presentations and stakeholder communications. Video participation in meetings is required for this role.
  • Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, and a high degree of competence in project support, research, and teamwork.
  • Intermediate to expert level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and comfort managing through ambiguity.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

  • 2+ years of insights/market research experience.
  • Proven experience analyzing marketplace data and applying macro trends.
  • Ability to turn raw data into compelling stories and impactful visualizations using tools such as, but not limited to Power BI, Tableau, and Smartsheet.
  • Experience in a corporate Supply Management or Strategic Procurement environment.

PAY INFORMATION:
The annual salary range for this position is $100K - $120K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
