Position Summary The Professional Billing Compliance Coordinator for the Department of Medicine at CUIMC is responsible for the direct oversight of all billing compliance activities within the department. The coordinator supports and ensures the accuracy and integrity of all coding and documentation practices across multiple divisions. The Coordinator ensures the implementation and application of Columbia University compliance policies, guidelines, and regulations, as well as federal and state requirements. The position reports jointly to the Department of Medicine and the Office for Billing Compliance (OFBC), and works closely with faculty, practice managers, revenue cycle directors, the Clinical Revenue Office (CRO), and the OFBC to identify and resolve documentation, coding, and billing issues. A key responsibility includes conducting regular audits of departmentally submitted services, following a rolling yearly schedule within the compliance audit system. The Coordinator also plays a central role in audit preparation, results review, training, and identifying quality and improvement opportunities across the department. Responsibilities
