Job Description




As a Security Guard - Armed Federal Facility in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents while conducting routine patrols at a government location. This role requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities. You will remain visible to support a secure environment, provide outstanding customer service, and demonstrate our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity while putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas, reporting any unusual or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control procedures, verifying identification and authorization of individuals entering restricted areas.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports as required by site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Remain alert and ready to respond to security-related situations that may arise during the course of duty.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • At least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
