Job Description

Job Summary:


In this role, the Principal Operations Program Manager (OPM) will have responsibility for program execution across the Microwave Amplification line of business. In this role, you will apply your existing knowledge of operations, material requirements planning, manufacturing and business acumen within a matrixed organization. You will be responsible for developing and executing operational program strategies/plans for critical programs, overall ownership program performance, and communication of customer requirements.

The OPM will support bids & proposals by developing/forecasting labor & material basis of estimates. This work will be performed in conjunction with factory operations & supply chain functions. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills to influence and communicate effectively across multiple areas outside of one's own job function as well as with parties external to the organization. Although this role does not include direct reports, it does require your ability to influence others outside of your immediate organization to on goal alignment.


This role is on-site in Oxnard, CA.



Job Responsibility:



  • Accountable for operational aspects of critical programs (manufacturing, materials, issue resolution)
  • Support customer calls providing operational status and delivery information
  • Operations inputs to customer proposals (BOM costing, operations hours/costing, tooling/jigs, and full operations BOE generation)
  • Support estimates at complete (EAC) and monthly earned value reporting
  • Support and present operations metrics and data through program reviews (both internal and external) to Mercury and customer leadership
  • Supplier risk and opportunity management to include obsolescence management, reporting, and improvement actions
  • Maintaining/Assessing the integrity of your programs' schedule
  • Champion efforts to meet readiness requirements throughout a NPI stage-gate process
  • Change leader, helping to drive Mercury's strategy, structure, and values
  • This is a hand-ons position, supporting the Microwave Amplification line of business
  • Strategic thinking coupled with ROI / business case development



Required Qualification:



  • Typically requires a bachelor's and a minimum of eight (8) years prior relevant experience in functional areas of supply chain, operations (including production control), program management, or technical project management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience providing inputs into and reviewing EACs, along with development of business cases
  • Experience in review and understanding of statements of work (SOW) and project requirements (technical and commercial)
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and prioritization skills
  • Experience leading teams with direct and indirect reports
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), leadership abilities, and the ability to work in an IPT environment
  • Critical Thinking skills



Preferred Qualification:



  • A self-starter, capable of achieving organizational and program objectives, and able to interface with all levels of internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to succeed in the high stress, fast paced developmental environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to assign the appropriate priorities to the many tasks that need to be performed.
  • Knowledge of US Government acquisition laws and regulations (FAR).
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP business systems
  • Knowledge of microelectronics products with chip and wire experience a plus

Pay Grade Range
Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
* $87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
* $97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
* $102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
