Position Summary:
This Application Developer position with a primary focus on building, supporting, and maintaining healthcare system interfaces. Responsibilities include specifying and designing interface architecture; developing, testing, validating, documenting, and monitoring HL7 interfaces using an integration engine such as Corepoint; supporting web services (SOAP) interfaces; and working with XML, CCDA, IHE, TCP/IP, SFTP, FTP, SSH, and authentication and credentialing (security). The role supports and troubleshoots interfaces across healthcare systems, including Epic (Epic Bridges certification preferred), Meditech, Quest Diagnostics, Athena, eCW, AllScripts, and Cerner, while partnering with application teams and vendors, administering test plans and scripts, providing operational reporting, and supporting daily interface operations in a healthcare environment. This is a hybrid position with monthly and quarterly onsite responsibilities at our Wellesley location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Researches and identifies the requirements of information system programmatic needs. Analyzes vendor and internally developed solutions to meet the integrated needs of the project.
  • Specifies and designs new solutions and handling all aspects of the interface architecture process.
  • Participates in interface projects by providing analytical and technical guidance to team members and project managers.
  • Creates all necessary documentation for system changes and maintains build documentation. Administers testing and completes validation of interfacing.
  • Develops and prepares reports for operations, senior management, and other departments.
  • Works with other application partners and vendors to resolve and troubleshoot interface related issues.
  • Monitors and maintains daily functions of interfaces, working with edits of each.
  • Answers support calls.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field required.
Experience:
  • 3 years' work experience required. Experience creating and maintaining HL7 interfaces using an integration engine such as Corepoint preferred.
  • 2 years working in a healthcare organization as an interface analyst preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare systems such as Epic, Meditech, Quest Diagnostics, Athena, eCW, AllScripts, Cerner or similar preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic networking skills including TCP/IP, SFTP, FTP, SSH preferred.
  • Understanding of authentication and Credentialling (Security).
  • Epic Bridges Certification (or willing to complete) preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
