Join Clariant and become part of the Care Chemicals business unit, where you will support the planning and execution of small to medium capital projects that improve plant safety, reliability, and operational performance. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will help translate operational and maintenance needs into defined project scopes, support capital expenditure proposals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role offers hands-on exposure to chemical manufacturing processes, technical equipment, and Clariant business systems, providing a strong foundation for career development.

Responsibilities



  • Develops project scopes, specifications, and basic engineering documentation for small to medium capital projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Prepares initial cost estimates and project timelines for capital expenditure proposals, gathering necessary data from vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Supports the creation of capital appropriation requests (CARs) by compiling technical information, justifications, and preliminary designs.
  • Conducts site inspections and field verifications to gather accurate information for project planning and implementation.
  • Coordinates with vendors and contractors to obtain quotes, technical specifications, and delivery timelines for equipment and services.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation including drawings, specifications, change orders, and project status reports.
  • Participates in risk assessments and safety reviews to ensure capital projects comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors project progress against established milestones and budgets, reporting variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assists in equipment and system commissioning activities, including development of testing protocols and documentation of results.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and quality to ensure capital projects meet user requirements



Requirements



  • BS in Engineering or other field with direct experience in plant maintenance.
  • 1+ years in manufacturing or engineering consulting
  • Knowledge of complex technical equipment used in chemical manufacturing or or similar industrial settings
