TITLE: Materials Manager
LOCATION: Onsite in Lithonia, GA
COMP RANGE: $87,342.44 - $131,012.86 plus bonus

Griffith Foods is hiring a Materials Manager to provide day-to-day guidance and hands on execution for Materials Planning, Production Scheduling, & At Risk Inventory Management.

As a Materials Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing hands on guidance and training to the Material Planners to read, analyze, and execute MRP planned orders and action messages.
  • Active participation on periodical Planning and Inventory parameters revision, update and maintenance in the ERP for Purchased items. (i.e. Coverage groups, Safety Stocks, etc)
  • Ensuring daily execution on: RM availability to support Production schedule, effective communication of RM issues that may impact Production Schedule and/ or Sales orders, proper follow up on 'At Risk' Inventory.
  • Monitor & Analysis of process & data to drive Root Cause counter measures/ actions (RM hold list).
  • Provide guidance to Material planners to minimize raw material shortages impact by evaluating alternatives.
  • Provide support to Customer demand urgencies and changes in demand.
  • Provide backup in the areas of Production Scheduling, Materials Planning & At Risk Inventory Management.
  • Develop and review Personal Action Goals, Supervision, support to Material planners.
  • Support the S&OP+ Process with a focus on RM availability, potential stock out risks and At Risk inventory.
  • Periodically review at risk/slow moving inventory to uncover inventory that may expire before being used and suggest a disposition.
  • Being the main contact for Formula Change Requests (FCR) at the Lithonia factory.

The Materials Manager position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Love to "roll up your sleeves" and be hands on with your work.
  • Have strong Manufacturing Material Planning experience- food manufacturing is a plus.
  • Thrive in a setting of change and complex consumer goods production
  • Think outside of the box to provide process change improvements
  • Are a strong problem solver

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or minimum 8 years of relevant Supply Chain / Materials Management experience.
  • Expertise with SAP, Oracle, DAX, or formal ERP system.
  • 5-7 years of Materials Planning & Scheduling in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in Lithonia, GA 4-5 days per week.
  • Ability and willingness to cover team absences as needed.

What will set you apart:

  • 3-5 Years in Materials / Supply Chain Leadership role is preferred.
  • APICS, CPIM or equivalent

FOR HYBRID OR REMOTE ROLES: Griffith Foods embraces WorkFlex, allowing employees to work remotely, and select options like compressed work weeks, flex time, etc. that creates an effective workplace where work patterns meet the needs of both employers & employees. Most IT professionals come into the office once a week or less. Periodic onsite meetings may occur at our Lombard or Alsip (IL) locations.

This role is affiliated to the Lithonia, GA location, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance that location and will be required to come into that location. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings.
