Azure PostgreSQL is a rapidly growing team inside Azure Data and Microsoft andwe'relooking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager who has experience in building world class team and are excited about building large scale managed database cloud services. Collaborate with team members to plan, architect, implement and deliver new features and experiences. Oversee partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams for multiple solutions or product lines. Keep informed of and communicates new standards to ensure that the product development and scaling is to customer requirements, applying best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations. Enable and fosters cross-team communications to drive cross-functional results and resolves conflicts between teams. Define team objectives and outcomes; Enable success across boundaries; Help the team adapt and learn. Provide technical and team leadership in efforts to collect, classify, and analyze complex data and analyses on a range of metrics (e.g., health of the system, where bugs might be occurring). Leads the refinement of products through data. Embody our cultureandvalues Qualifications Required/MinimumQualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Scienceor related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Job Requirements:Other& Additional Abilityto meet Microsoft,customerand/or government security screening requirements arerequiredfor this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred/Additional Qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. Experience with systems software development (C/C++ or Rust) or database systems internals is a plus. Experience building a cloud product or infrastructure system on global scale. Experience with workflow orchestration and cloud infrastructure management . There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
